New for 2015! Aberdeen City Council are working with Aberdeen Inspired to bring a brand new Christmas Village to Union Terrace which includes an open-air ice rink, German market, fairground rides, refreshments and entertainment. Open 7 days a week, the village will take over the whole length of Union Terrace from 26 November – 3 January. Popular winter festival events such as the Christmas Tree Switch-On, Christmas Lights Switch-On, Carol Concert, St Andrew’s Day Ceilidh and Nativity Scene also return to the city. Woodside Parish Church Children’s Choir who meets every Tuesday at 3:15pm in our large church hall. Open for all Primary School Children. Free healthy snacks provided. New members always welcome!! The Children’s Choir will perform at our Messy Christingle Family Service on Dec 6th at 5pm in our large church hall and at our Christmas Play Family Service on Dec 20th at 11am in the church. We are going to start Bikeability Level 1 training for Primary 5 children after the October holidays. Any child is welcome to attend, they just need a suitable bike and helmet. We will be undertaking bike and helmet checks on Friday 30th October. Letters are being sent home with permission slips so that we know how many children to expect.
After completing Bikeability Scotland Level 1 children should be able to:
Carry out a simple bike check Get on and off their bike without help
Start off and pedal without help Stop without help
Make the bike go where they want Ride along without help for roughly one minute or more
Move their bike safely to avoid objects Look all around, including behind, without wobbling
Signal right and left without wobbling Use the gears correctly (if the bike has gears)
Primary 6 children are invited to join our Goblin Car Club. Letters are being sent home today, Thursday 8th October. The club will begin on Thursday 29th October from 3pm – 4pm
