Bikeability training for Primary 5 children

We are going to start Bikeability Level 1 training for Primary 5 children after the October holidays. Any child is welcome to attend, they just need a suitable bike and helmet. We will be undertaking bike and helmet checks on Friday 30th October. Letters are being sent home with permission slips so that we know how many children to expect.

After completing Bikeability Scotland Level 1 children should be able to:

Carry out a simple bike check                       Get on and off their bike without help

Start off and pedal without help                     Stop without help

Make the bike go where they want                 Ride along without help for roughly one minute or more

Move their bike safely to avoid objects          Look all around, including behind, without wobbling

Signal right and left without wobbling             Use the gears correctly (if the bike has gears)
