A short video of our fantastic gymnastic skills!
In Room 12 we have done lots of different things this week. On Monday morning we did a number hunt with our primary 2 buddies. We had to count numbers and solve math problems to get the answers.
On Tuesday for writing we watched a cool video called ‘Ridge’ and we had to make notes about it. The video was about a man called Danny Macaskill who is an expert mountain biker.
On Wednesday we were learning about Hindu gods and goddesses. There’s even a monkey god called Hanuman. We had to explain the similarities and the differences between them. Then we got to create our own.
On Thursday we took part in recycled sports for Eco week and started to design an eco mascot. In recycled sport we had 5 stations all made from recycled objects like cans and bottles. My favourite station was the bowling where we had to use paper balls to knock down the plastic bottles, it was fun.
We are learning about all the different parts of the eatwell plate.
We know that the plate is split into different sections. The biggest parts are Fruit and Vegetables and Starchy Carbohydrates. You should have a third of each every single day.
We have been creating our own eatwell plates. We drew and stuck foods into the correct sections.
Next we are going to look at sugar and investigate how much is in our favourite snacks and drinks.

We are very excited in Room 12 as our 6 fantastic stories are off to the printers! We are waiting in anticipation to see our finished work in book form!
We have been preparing hard for our upcoming book launch being held at the Woodside Public Library on Wednesday 23rd November at 11am. Families should have received their invitations and we look forward to to seeing lots of people there including some special guests!
As part of our book project we have making enterprise items to sell in order to help promote reading. The boys and girls have been busy making wise reading owl keyrings and bright coloured bookmarks which will be available to buy at the launch and the Christmas Fayre on the 1st December.
The children have also helped to design their very own tote bag which has writing and our Wonderful Woodside Writers Logo on the front. Some of our lovely models can be seen showing it off on our Twitter page!
9 days until the launch! #woodsidereads

Room 12 would like to say a big thank you to all the parents, Nannies, cousins, Aunties and friends that came along to our illustrators workshop! They helped to create lots of drawings for our books and inspired us to create our own versions of their work.
Thanks for all the feedback, we can’t wait to show you our finished books!
P5 have been busy writing their very own picture books. We have been inspired by all the different books that we have evaluated and all the illustrators that have inspired us to draw, like Chris Riddell, Quentin Blake and Nick Sharratt. We have started to storyboard our ideas and we look forward to welcoming all the parents along to our drawing workshop!
